Project Description
The strawberry shape is created using the Large Heart Silicone Column Mold, poppy seeds, and Hot Pink Mica. The poppy seeds give the bars exfoliating properties, that leaves skin feeling smooth.
The heart embed is placed into the 10 inch Silicone Loaf Mold and covered in white and blue soap. A few dollops of green soap give the effect of a cute strawberry stem.

Strawberry Embeds:
- Heart Silicone Column Mold
- 16 oz. Lots of Lather Quick Mix
- 2.3 oz. Sodium Hydroxide Lye
- 5.1 oz. Distilled Water
- 0.7 oz. Pink Strawberry Fragrance Oil
- Hot Pink Mica
- Poppy Seeds
Base:
- 10” Silicone Loaf Mold
- 24 oz. Lots of Lather Quick Mix
- 3.4 oz. Lye
- 7.6 oz. Distilled Water
- 1.3 oz. Pink Strawberry Fragrance Oil
- Titanium Dioxide
- Caribbean Blue Mica
- Green Chrome Oxide
Follow these steps:
MAKE THE EMBEDS
FRAGRANCE OIL PREP: In a glass container, measure 0.7 ounces of Pink Strawberry Fragrance Oil. Set aside.
SAFETY FIRST: Suit up for safe handling practices. That means goggles, gloves, and long sleeves. Make sure kids, pets, other distractions, and tripping hazards are out of the house or don’t have access to your space. Always make soap in a well-ventilated area.

Slowly and carefully add 2.3 ounces of lye to 5.1 ounces of distilled water and gently stir until the lye has fully dissolved and the liquid is clear. Set aside to cool. Optional: Add 1 teaspoon of sodium lactate to help the bars harden more quickly.

Fully melt the Lots of Lather Quick Mix until it's clear. Give the bag a good shake and measure 16 ounces into a large heat-safe container. Add 2 teaspoons of Hot Pink Mica directly to the oils and stick blend until there are no clumps.
Once the lye water and the oils have cooled to 120° F or below (and are ideally within 10 degrees of each other), add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until thin trace.

Add the measured Pink Strawberry Fragrance Oil to the soap batter. Whisk to fully combine. Add 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds and whisk in.

If necessary, stick blend the soap until you reach a medium trace.

Set the Silicone Column Mold vertically against a wall or in an upright container, where you plan to let it harden. You don't want to move it after you pour the soap, otherwise it can come apart. Carefully pour the soap into the mold and spritz the top with alcohol to prevent soda ash. Let it harden for 1-2 days.

Unmold by pulling the 2 halves apart. Clean off any excess soap if necessary, and set aside.
MAKE THE BASE
COLORANT PREP: In seperate containers, disperse 1 teaspoon of titanium dioxide and 1 teaspoon of Caribbean Blue Mica into 1 tablespoon of sunflower or sweet almond oil (or any other liquid oil). Add 1/2 teaspoon of Green Chrome Oxide into 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Use a mini mixer to help get rid of any clumps. Optional: To ensure the titanium dioxide blends smoothly into the soap, we recommend micronizing it before dispersing it in oil. Use a coffee grinder to break up any clumps of color and prevent streaks of white from showing in the final soap. We like to use a coffee grinder that has a removable stainless steel mixing area for easy cleaning.

Once the lye water and the oils have cooled to 120° F or below (and are ideally within 10 degrees of each other), add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until thin trace.

Add the fragrance oil and whisk to fully combine. Split the soap into three containers and whisk in the following colorants:
Container A (300)mL: 1 tsp. dispersed Green Chrome Oxide
Container B (About 500 mL): 1 tsp. dispersed Caribbean Blue Mica
Container C (About 500 mL): 1 Tbs. dispersed Titanium Dioxide Pigment

Each container of soap should be a thin-medim trace. Pulse with the stick blender if they are still extremely thin. Pour the white soap into the blue, in various areas and heights to swirl the colors together. Pour about 1/3 of the blue swirled soap into the mold.

Place the heart-strawberry embed into the mold. Use a small spoon to carefully fill in the middle of the curve of the heart with green soap. Then, fill the sides of the mold with blue and white soap, until about level with the curve at the top of the of the strawberry embed.

Continue to dollop green soap in th middle to build height. If the soap is not thick enough to hold its shape and create height, wait a few minutes for it to thicken. Continue filling in the sides with blue and white soap until it meet the green soap.

Use a small spoon to level the blue soap, and build more height on the strawberry stem. Once you're happy with the effect, Spritz the soap with 99% isopropyl alcohol to help prevent soda ash.

Allow the soap to stay in the mold for 2-3 days. Unmold and cut into bars. Allow the bars to cure for 4-6 weeks. Enjoy!
